trojan horse

It was one of the largest and bloodiest wars i could've imagined. After losing our best fighter, Achilles, in the seventh year of the war many men wanted to give up. After a few more years of fighting, I had an idea. We would use some of our wood from our ships and make a giant wooden horse. We would then leave some of our men inside the horse, and take the rest of our ships around the corner of the island. We left one of our men on the shore to tell the Trojans how we had fled and left the giant wooden horse as a gift. A prophet almost spilled our secret and told the Trojans how we were trying to trick them, but was struck down by Poseidon. This was seen as an act of a god, and since Poseidon was also the god of cavalry, the Trojans thought it would be disrespectful not to take the wooden horse in. The whole city was celebrating that night, and ate and drank more than their fill. After the city was asleep, we snuck out of the horse and went to go open up the gates of Troy to let the rest of our men in. It was a complete slaugtering after our men broke the gates of Troy. The Trojan soldiers were just waking up and many of their men didn't even have time to put their armor on and get their weapons. Their soldiers on the other side of their city had some time to get ready, but we had already set flame to Troy and were overwhelming them. It was our greatest victory. The war won, we started to gather our troops and treasures so we could go home. My head filled with pride, I made a proclamation to the sea that I needed no gods. This was one of the greatest mistakes of my journeys, but I wouldn't realize it until much later.
