My first son had just been born, and a time of peace and prosperity on my land of Ithica looked to get even better. The flowers were bloomiong, summer was coming and all was well. Then my fellow brothers of Greece, Agammenom and Menelaus, and their armies brung news of a war which was all over an insifnificant reason which i would not willingly leave my dear Penelope and new born Telmechaus for. I decided to set up a ploy, acting like i was not well in the head so they would not cart me off to war. When they arrived i was in my fields plowing, doing the work of oxen all by myself and muttering. Whenever they would ask me a question or query what I was doing, I would just keep plowing and muttering to myself. They began to become quite annoyed, not knowing whether i was faking or actually crazy. In order to test my mental standing, they hoverered my newborn Telemachaus above my plows path. If I was truly insane, I would run over my son, thus showing I was not acting. Needless to say, I stopped my little act and admitted to faking my insanity. I then had to gather my armies and accept that I was off to war. Farewell Penelope.
